"Country Sunset",  24"x36" ,  Oil on m useum wrapped canvas.   $600, includes shipping.   Well it was nice to get the paints out again.   It had been a while.     I'd had this photo of a windmill for years.    Sorry to say it's no longer standing, as it went down in 2003 when we had the tornado come through our county.    It was just one of those nice, quiet country evenings, and gladly I had my camera at hand.    I think I'd been out on a Real Estate call......those were the days.    Not doing that any more.     I'll enter this in the Springfield Regional Arts Council, Member Invitational, "Caught My Eye".   I'm hoping it might be accepted for the September show.      I even got brave and took some video of myself painting this sunset.    I'll try to make a movie out of it, if I can figure it out.    ...

"Excitation", at Skyport Gallery, Springfield Airport We went by the airport today, so I could get a photo of the Skyport Gallery Show.    It's so hot here, in the 100's, too hot to try to paint outside.    Here's a view of my painting on display.    It's been fun to have family and friends enjoying the show, as they have been coming and going at the airport.

A lot has happened since my last post.   Life has dealt us a blow with Bob having a lung cancer diagnosis.    We are both determined, Lord willing, to give it our all to fight and defeat  this disease.    We are blown away by all the love and support from family and friends.   We love you all.    We were blessed last week with a great Neese family reunion.    All living siblings and most of their families were able to attend.    This means so much, especially at this time.    Bob's Journey against Cancer My art has taken a back seat, but may help to distract from the stress on the journey ahead.    Priorities have changed, as our lives flash before our eyes.    So hug those loved ones and enjoy life everyday.    Thanks for your many thoughts and prayers.    Susie and Bob

The weather was fantastic this afternoon for painting at an old mill site and bridge located about 11 miles North of Stockton, Missouri.     Caplinger Mills.     The original building burnt down, but the bridge was saved for prosperity by some caring neighbors and friends.   It is now on the Historic Registry.     The river below, Sac River, is a favorite place for swimming, wading, and fishing.     Of course there is canoeing and camping also.    "Historic Crossing", 8"x10",  Plein air, Oil on canvas.    $285

It's really nice that a local business, Maschino's in Springfield is displaying the paintings from our group, Springfield Plein Air painters.    This is one of the paintings I entered.    "Early Morning Light", 16"x20", $500.    Next month we will be doing some paintings in conjunction with the Springfield Zoo, as a fundraiser for the zoo.     Some of the animals are getting into the act, so that should be fun.     I hope I'm not outdone by the elephant!

Good news!!  "Excitation",(below), was accepted for the "Big Show" at the Springfield-Branson National Airport.     Also accepted was my painting, "Early at ArtsFest", 26"x38", $600.     It will be great to have them on display May 22nd thru August 13th.    Hopefully someone will fall in love with them and want to take them home.     In the meantime, some of the family will get to see them there, as they fly in for our family reunion in June.     That will be fun.   Can't wait.
