Bob and I are working this summer as Park Attendants here at the lake, so I haven't had much time for painting. It's been so hot lately we're just looking forward to Fall and a cool down. I'll be ready for some more plein air painting by then.

Feb. 21, 2009 "Fall At It's Best" It's cold outside, so decided to get some painting done. This is another painting started last October. It's a view above the small dam, at the trout hatchery. I couldn't resist painting this fisherman. Although one fisherman left and another stood in his place, so I had to revise it a little. There were many fishermen and women coming and going, but that's what you have when you paint plein air. I just get in a "zone"....and look past them, and then hardly notice they are there. Those seriously fishing, hardly notice me too. "Touche" .
Here's my Mom standing by my painting, "Walnut Street View", hanging at the Springfield-Branson National Airport. We wanted to see the new art show, and see how my painting looked, and where it was hung. I was pretty happy with the show. It will be up until March the 11th. There were quite a few people viewing the paintings the short time we were there. It's nice to have a great place to display local art. Thanks to the Springfield Regional Arts Council, the Springfield-Branson National Airport, and Drury College, for the opportunity. If you're flying in or out, or would like to see the new airport, check out the Sky Gallery. Free parking for 30 minutes in the short term parking.
June came in hot and heavy. Bob and I are working as park attendant/custodians here at Stockton Lake again. Other than the heat, we enjoy meeting the campers and seeing all the wildlife that wander through our park. I saw a doe and two, new, little fawns this morning. One of the little ones didn't know what to think about the pavement as they made they're way across the road. The heavy part of June was the loss of Bob's oldest brother and a close neighbor. When it rains it pours as they say. It's not easy when we start losing loved ones. Just thankful they are not suffering, and in a better place. Now this 4 th of July weekend is a scorcher as campers are all scrambling to find a shade tree. I won't be out plein air painting until the heat lets up a little. Until next time, enjoy your weekend. God bless America.
