"Grand Prize Vacation", 8"x 10", Oil.  Painted on location I'm still floating high after selling this painting to the nice couple you see here fishing.    It's not very often that I get a chance to sell while it's still on the easel.     She is a photographer and won the grand prize, which was to stay at any State Park in Missouri.   They chose Bennett Springs.   How great is that?   This is just about finished.........and I will ship it to them as soon as it drys a little more.  Thanks again, Cheryl and John.   I also sold "Moonlight Song", painted last week, and delivered it today.    June has been good to me so far.......

Thursday I just wanted to sleep in...........but I knew I needed to get up and out of the house.    So I dragged out of bed and headed across the lake to the State Park.    And as usual it ended up to be a good morning.   The first photo shows my painting about half done.    I was painting over an old reject painting, so most of this one is done with the palette knife.    I wanted it to stand out, and to stay real loose.   I'm pretty happy with the results.   And already have a few interested in purchasing it.   Thanks for all the nice comments on FaceBook.    "Moonlight Song", 8"x 10", Oil, painted on location.

It feels good to have a couple shows starting this week.    I have this landscape in "The Blues" show at the Waverly House Gifts and Gallery, which runs through July 25th.    And then I have this portrait and figure painting on display at the Springfield Regional Arts Council's member's show, from June 5th thru June 29th.    Problem is both receptions are on the same night.  Friday, June 5th.    Waverly is earlier (5pm)so I'll hit it first, and then head to the Arts Council.   Just hoping I don't miss any friends or family that drop in.   If I do......I apologize.   Call my cell phone if any question.
