Chuckwagon area.    That's me in the white, Delores and Carol. Up the Canyon. My block-in of the chuck wagon . "Chuck Wagon", 8"x 10", oil study, painted on site.                                                                                                                        Thursday morning it was raining and dreary when we, (Springfield Plein Air artists),  arrived at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, Lampe, Missouri, so most of us camped out under the cover at the "Chuck Wagon", area.    I chose the tough subject........the chuck wagon.........to paint.     The wagon looks to be an authentic "chuckwagon", used by  cowboys on trail rides.    Now it adds true character for barbeques,  receptions and get-togethers.    As the day went on the rain finally quit and it ended up a nice day.    Jeanie & Johnny Morris, founders of the Nature Park, gave us free access to the park, and provided transportation for us and

"Anna", 16"x 20", Oil, painted from life "Larran", 16"x 20", Oil, painted from life "Leslie", 16"x 20", Oil, painted from life  I had a wonderful time meeting new art friends and learning from Romel de la Torre at his workshop the last 5 days.   These are the studies I painted at the event.    Thanks to Tina Garrett for bringing this to the K.C. area.   I was inspired by watching Romel's process and his help doing portraits and painting the figure.   Now is the challenge to put it all to use......
