Nathan Boone Homestead,  Ash Grove, MO
I  met with the Springfield Plein Air group again today.    Cheryl Coen hitched a ride with me and we drove over, about 25 miles South of where I live.    It's located in the country just a couple miles North of Ash Grove, MO just off of Hwy 160.    There's approx. 350 acres, the old home built in the 1800's , and a neat old barn, that was built later like in the 1930's.    It's a State park and they do a nice job keeping it up, and volunteers keep a nice garden growing next to the house.    There's also a Boone family grave yard with headstones.     After we painted some of us girls met at the Copper Grill in Ash Grove and had some good conversation and lunch.    Afterwards Cheryl and I traveled West and South to Carthage to Cherry's Custom Framing and Art Gallery.    It's a great gallery that represents many wonderful artists.     We spent an hour and a half just drooling over the art.   Cheryl and I have high hopes of  getting our beautiful art on their walls sometime soon.   Cherry and her family are very active in their community and busy promoting the arts in many ways, including music, in that corner of the Midwest.    It was a good day.
