I had a fun time painting this at the Waverly House Gallery,  "Meet the Artist" night.    I haven't done a small still life in quite a while.    It was nice to visit with the folks that came for the evening and to visit with the other artists.   Some very interesting people.    I'll just add a couple more touches and then sign this.    It will be available in a few weeks after it drys a little.

I'll be participating in an up-coming show starting this week. Springfield Regional Arts Council(SRAC), will be having it's 2010 annual Members Show. The opening reception will be held for the public during First Friday Art Walk, June 4th, from 6 to 9 p.m. The Member's artwork will be the featured artwork during the annual membership meeting and Ozzie Awards held at The Creamery Arts Center on Thursday, June 16th. The exhibition will run through June 28th. I entered two of my newest paintings. A pastel, "China Rose", and an oil, "Marina Morning". Stop by and see the show if you get a chance. This is a tribute to a wonderful art friend who died a few years ago, Dennis Yates.    He was and still is an inspiration to me.    I uploaded this painting of mine before, but this is a better photo of the painting.   Dennis let me use his original photo to work from.   I've had many offers to purchase this, but I promised him I wouldn't sell it, so it graces my brother's dining room in Alabama.   This is      "Apple Basket", 16"x 20", Oil on canvas.
